"For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10: 11-13 (KJV)

Still a Student

by Elizabeth Varian

I am still a student, learning the way of the Almighty. Through
my apprenticeship I will learn, love, and listen. But, most of
all, I will stumble many times along the way. I have learned that
I need not worry. For each time I trip and stumble, God will
catch me before I hit the ground.

Before a scratch can scar my soul, the Holy One's hands will
grasp me. As my creator and my parent, He will then love my tears
away and comfort me with His arms of tenderness and kindness.

As a student of His Word, I will begin to think I have all the
answers and begin to counsel before it's time. He will then hold
up the stop sign and remind me, "Have patience, little one, your
time will come. Right now, your job is to learn, love, and praise
My name." Each time I think I am the only one who loves You, dear
God, this much; You show me a Mother Theresa. I am Your student.

I am inpatient. I want to show the world Your glory. But, right
now, I am Your student. And apprentice of Your word.

"But what does it say? 'The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart' that is, the word of
faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes
unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10: 8-10 (NKJV)
