"For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10: 11-13 (KJV)

Down the Path of Life

by Elizabeth Varian

Walking down this winding, hilly,
and sometimes rocky path of life;
I gander at the path to my left.
His life doesn't seem quite right.

He stopped at the hill and
hasn't moved an inch.
Doesn't he know it's a cinch?

There he stands with fear in his heart.
If only he could see the other side.
The flowers and rainbow waiting for him.

Walking down this winding, hilly,
and sometimes rocky path of life;
I gander at the path to my right.
His life doesn't seem quite right.

He's moving the rocks out of his way
by throwing them forward.
Doesn't he know--that he will only
come across them on another day?

He lifts them up and throws them ahead.
When the time comes, they will form a
huge wall that he'll really dread.

Walking down this winding, hilly,
and sometimes rocky path of life;
I gander up to the heavens above.

Dear God,
Help me to know that there is no hill
to fear and help me to break the rocks
and throw them behind as I go.

Amen

"But what does it say? 'The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart' that is, the word of
faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes
unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10: 8-10 (NKJV)
