"For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10: 11-13 (KJV)

Back in the Game

by Elizabeth Varian

Out on the sideline is safe and has been for awhile.
Can't get slammed, can't fumble and can't get carried off the field.
The view is great, watching the pigskin fly in the air.
When it soars toward the endzone and the players on the field rush ~
My adrenaline rises high.

I cheer, I shout, I scream with admiration.
Then I go home alone, no scars, no bumps or bruises
And no joy, no feelings of the wind having broke my run and no trophies.

Out of the game has been safe ... and boring.
I can't do it anymore.
I can't sit and watch the world live life without me.

I'm padded down, warmed up and ready to jump in full force.
Coach, I'm ready.
Yes, I am going to fumble and even get tackled.
But I'm going to grab that pigskin and run...
5 yard...15 yards...30 yards and more.
I'm prayin' for a touchdown.
In this life, I'm ready to score!

"But what does it say? 'The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart' that is, the word of
faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes
unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10: 8-10 (NKJV)
